Copper Basin Music Club Welcome Community Musicians

The Music Club of the Copper Basin Learning Center organized the second
annual Community Music Evening on March 17th at Copper Basin High
School. The response to the student invite was astounding in both
quantity of participants and quality of the music provided from the
coming-together of these fine professionals.  The usually quiet library
was filled with vibrations of bluegrass music which would make any
festival envious of such a performance.

Music Club students responsible for organizing the event are
Westley Harris and Jeremy Barker of the Barker Brothers. Jonathan Barker
and Colby Ledford also participated in the music of the evening.
Multimedia Club students Leslie Meyers and Rachel Tompkins were on hand
to photo/video the event, while Daniel Taylor helped in the audio
recording under the direction of technology teacher and club advisor,
Steve Tompkins (also owner of Tompkins Digital Studios). From this
recording, a music CD will be made available to all participants.
Portions of the production will also be featured on the annual DVD
project which will be on sale this summer.

These events are part of an on-going effort of the Copper Basin
Learning Center to provide partnerships between the school and community
for the purpose of expanding education through the arts, music,
technology, and a better understanding of cultural heritage.
