Copper Basin High School Band Goals Thankfully Met
Written by Angie Cook, Coordinator of Copper Basin Learning Center
January 2008

In response to a request made by Copper Basin Learning Center to the primary funding partner Glenn Springs Holdings Inc. for the amount of $35,000 needed for band instruments at Copper Basin High School, (GSHI) offered a generous $15,000 in matching funds for community-raised-money.
We are happy to announce that the full $15,000 match was met by Ellijay Telephone Company (ETC), a long-standing supporter of the school and community. This match made it possible for the band to receive the GSHI funding. In former fund raising efforts by the band through concerts, hand-made craft sales, and contributions given by caring individuals in the community, they had raised $5,000 bringing the total to the $35,000 needed for the instruments.
In addition, the Copper Basin Credit Union has given $500 which will be used to start up the building fund, for the greatly needed multipurpose classroom space to be used by all the arts programs at Copper Basin High School. Each contribution, from individual community members, businesses, and corporations has clarified that dreams truly do come true.
